The Donor Support Specialist plays a central role in sustaining and strengthening Stray Cat Alliance's lifesaving work by supporting the daily operations of the Development team. This position ensures donors have a positive, organized, and meaningful experience when supporting our mission to create safe, healthy, and valued lives for every cat. The role blends strong administrative, data management, and relationship-building skills to help maintain the infrastructure that powers fundraising success. Stray Cat Alliance is a leading nonprofit dedicated to ending cat homelessness and cruelty through spay/neuter services, trap-neuter-return (TNR), adoptions, medical and wellness care, and shelter support. Our team is deeply committed to creating humane, community-based solutions while working toward a no-kill nation. The Donor Support Specialist contributes directly to this mission by ensuring that donor engagement, gift processing, and development operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position is responsible for processing and recording charitable gifts, maintaining accurate donor and partner records within the organization's CRM system, and supporting data integrity and reporting efforts across all fundraising channels. The Donor Support Specialist works closely with fundraising staff to ensure revenue tracking, prospect management, and donor communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational goals. The role also supports development reporting and helps implement systems and procedures that strengthen efficiency, transparency, and collaboration across the team. Equally important, this position supports donor relations efforts by helping coordinate gift acknowledgments, thank-you calls, donor mailings, and other stewardship activities that foster strong and lasting relationships with supporters. The Donor Support Specialist serves as a key point of contact for donor and partner inquiries, helping ensure supporters receive prompt, professional, and helpful responses. The role may also assist with prospect research, event support, and fundraising campaigns, contributing to a collaborative and donor-centered culture throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working with relational databases and fundraising CRMs. They bring strong communication and project management skills, thrive in deadline-driven environments, and are motivated by contributing to mission-driven work. Candidates should have experience working with donor data systems, strong technical skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to both donors and colleagues. This is a full-time, non-exempt position based primarily in South Los Angeles. The Donor Support Specialist will work in a collaborative office environment within an active rescue organization that regularly serves animals, staff, volunteers, and community members. The role offers the opportunity to directly support programs that save lives while helping build the philanthropic support necessary to expand Stray Cat Alliance's impact.
