About The Position

The Development Coordinator (Administrative Analyst/Specialist II - Exempt) position at San Francisco State University involves providing a broad range of administrative support for the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Development and the Development department. The role includes managing sensitive duties related to office, personnel, fiscal, and back-office fundraising support. The Development Coordinator will also serve as the front office representative, ensuring professional and friendly customer service. This is a one-year probationary position with full-time hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to administrative specialties.
  • Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to administrative specialties.
  • Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis techniques.
  • Ability to independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in diverse situations.
  • Skill in the research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs.
  • Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information.
  • Ability to train others on new skills and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working in the fundraising area and/or with fundraisers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with pledge administration including reminders and write-offs in coordination with Development Directors and Advancement Services using the department's Raiser's Edge CRM.
  • Partner with the AVP on Development-wide initiatives such as the scholarship centralization project.
  • Coordinate with the AVP on scholarship administration matters.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new hires in the Development department.
  • Manage the AVP's Outlook calendar.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on hiring and absence management processes.
  • Assist with donor correspondence mailings and fundraising appeals.
  • Provide logistical support for travel arrangements for development officers.
  • Manage invoices, payments, and payment approval processes for the Development department.
  • Answer phone calls and route them appropriately.
  • Greet and escort visitors.
  • Oversee the overall orderliness and cleanliness of the office.
