Penn State is currently seeking an Development Communications Specialist in supporting the College of Engineering, one of the nation’s leading educators of world-class engineers and leading producers of world-class research. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR), you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country. Reporting to the Director of Prospect Engagement and Operations in the College of Engineering and working closely with as well partners throughout the university, this Development Communications Specialist will: Plan and create regular communications including proposals, impact stories, press releases, and multi-media communications; Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications; Align written communications with College campaign priorities; Collaborate with the College community to create deliverables designed to increase the likelihood of securing gifts and reinforce the impact of contributions; The successful candidate will have: Experience in creating external communication pieces that engage constituencies at various levels; Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills; The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues; Incredible attention to detail and writing skills; A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team; A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.
