Under direction of the Manager of Gift Processing, the Philanthropy Services Associate will be responsible for managing the timely processing and acknowledgement of all gifts, pledges, pledge payments, matching gifts, memorial and tribute gifts, stock donations, gifts-in-kind, and other contributions. Responsibilities include creating acknowledgment letters, pledge reminders, and responding to donor calls and emails.

Requirements

  • Education Required - High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
  • A strong base of general knowledge is required to communicate effectively with donors, prospects and volunteers who are often well educated and sophisticated leaders within the community
  • Strong oral and written communications skills are important in order to interact with donors and volunteers, to make professional public presentations, to produce and edit letters and brochures, and to represent accurately the often complex objectives of Philanthropic activities.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details are necessary in order to monitor current success of fundraisers and anticipate changes to special events in order to assure efficient operation of this aspect of the Division of Philanthropy.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred - Bachelor's degree
  • Work Experience Preferred - 2 years of Blackbaud experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepares daily gift deposits and credit card charges
  • Review and record within donor database all corporate, individual and event gifts and pledges daily
  • Generates gift acknowledgements and pledge payment reminders
  • Investigates biographical status of donors and prospects
  • Understand and apply all regulations and guidelines governing fundraising, gift processing and gift accounting (IRS, AHP, CASE, etc…)
  • Works with Manager of Donor Records to update donor and prospect records within the database
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
