As a Development Associate you will supports the Air Force Villages (AFV) Charitable Foundation by providing comprehensive administrative, operational, and development support to advance the organization’s philanthropic mission. This role assists office coordination, donor database management, and general development activities to ensure efficient daily operations and effective donor engagement.The Development Associate works collaboratively with the development team to support fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship, special events, and communications efforts. This position reports directly to the Director of Philanthropy and works closely with internal departments, volunteers, and external stakeholders as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and high ethical standards.
  • Must successfully complete various pre-employment requirements and comply with all provisions of the AFV Employee.
  • Required: High school diploma.
  • Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use basic A/V equipment.
  • A minimum of three to five years’ non-profit experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Associate degree in Non-Profit Management, General Business, or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • Demonstrate ability in creative thinking, evaluating relevant information, recognizing alternatives, and reaching logical conclusions based on evidence.
  • Preferred: Experience with donor database software, preferably Boomerang.

Responsibilities

  • Gift Processing & Data Entry Process incoming contributions & bank deposits
  • Reconcile monthly reports with finance department
  • Database Management & Data Integrity Maintain and update constituent records, including biographical data, contact information, and relationships.
  • Perform routine data clean-up, deduplication, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow established data standards and procedures to maintain integrity within database
  • Receipting & Acknowledgement Generate and distribute timely and accurate tax receipts and donor acknowledgements.
  • Maintain templates and ensure consistency in donor communications in alignment with Foundation standards.
  • Track acknowledgement workflows to ensure all donors are properly stewarded.
  • Administrative & Operational Support Acts as recording secretary at all AFV Charitable Foundation Board meetings.
  • Prepare correspondence for Director of Philanthropy as needed.
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding gift records, donor information, and acknowledgements.
  • Support audits, campaigns, and special projects assigned.
  • Coordinate release of funds with finance department
  • Attend fundraising events as needed to support Development team
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Philanthropy.
