About The Position

The Development Assistant at OPB plays a crucial role in supporting the fundraising department by providing executive-level assistance to the Chief Development Officer and Development Directors. This position involves managing schedules, preparing for meetings, tracking contracts and invoices, and assisting with data entry and reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently while contributing to OPB's mission of delivering quality public media to diverse communities.

Requirements

  • Three years of administrative experience, including experience supporting executive-level staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to research, compile, and draft reports documenting compliance with regulations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Familiarity with OPB's mission and ability to represent it effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Research skills.
  • Experience with fundraising CRM, preferably Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Chief Development Officer and Development Directors' ongoing activities, including scheduling and preparing for meetings.
  • Facilitate regular and confidential communications, gather information for agendas, and draft presentations and reports.
  • Assist with donor portfolio management and provide reports on donor activity and communications.
  • Handle travel arrangements for work-related meetings and conferences.
  • Serve as the point of contact for Philanthropy volunteers.
  • Collaborate with the OPB Finance team to ensure timely and accurate payments for development invoices.
  • Track Development contracts and maintain a filing system for contracts and related documentation.
  • Provide administrative support for the Development department, including coordinating timesheets and submitting expense reports.
  • Collaborate with Operations staff to maintain the department SharePoint site.
  • Monitor office supplies and reorder as necessary.
  • Coordinate production of Philanthropy TV and radio spots.
