About The Position

The Development Assistant supports the Director of the Mile Bluff Medical Center Foundation in advancing healthcare philanthropy efforts. This role provides administrative and executive support, assists with sponsorship cultivation, event coordination, donor stewardship, and collaborates on marketing and communications to share the organization's mission and impact.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in communications, business, English, nonprofit management or related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5 years of proven relationship building in sales, development/charitable, non-profit, or private sectors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in communications, including content creation, storytelling, and social media management.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop preferred.
  • Strong ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Effective customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated initiative and follow-through.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, innovation, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the foundation director and volunteers in soliciting special event sponsors as well as coordinating and executing fundraising events.
  • Assist with sponsorship solicitations as directed.
  • Support donor research, stewardship, and cultivation through creative messaging, outreach and prospecting as identified by the director.
  • Draft correspondence and stewardship materials for foundation, including acknowledgement donation letters, newsletters, and marketing materials.
  • Solicits donations of goods to support programming needs in collaboration with the foundation director.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the fund development plan and stewardship plans.
  • Collaborates with foundation director and board of directors to develop donor recognition activities.
  • Craft engaging content for various platforms, including website, social media, newsletters, and other marketing materials, in partnership with the foundation director.
  • Develop and maintain mailing lists and complete reports accurately within the donor management system.
  • Assist director in creating compelling stories and narratives that showcase the success and impact of our programs and services.
  • Manage and maintain the organization's brand identity and messaging consistency across all communication channels.
  • Support development and outreach events, including managing RSVPs, logistical set-up, staffing events, guest follow-up, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with the foundation director, volunteers, and leadership to understand and articulate program goals and outcomes effectively.
