About The Position

The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Development Manager to support essential fundraising and development functions across the organization. This role is responsible for drafting proposals, coordinating reporting for funding requests, corporate and philanthropic, maintaining accurate membership records, and serving as a key connection point between internal departments and sponsors. The ideal candidate is proactive, team-oriented, and eager to contribute to the PDP’s work to enhance and promote Downtown Pittsburgh. Representative Duties and Responsibilities: Proposal Development: collaborate with PDP leadership and program staff to support the development of funding proposals to corporate, foundation, and philanthropic partners. Responsibilities include drafting and editing proposal narratives, assembling budgets and supporting materials, tracking deadlines, and ensuring submissions align with funder guidelines and strategic priorities. This role will also maintain a proposal calendar and contribute to continuous improvement of proposal templates and processes. Grant Reporting: Track grant deliverables and reporting requirements; coordinate with internal teams to gather programmatic and financial information and support timely, accurate report submissions. Sponsorship Coordination: Support sponsorship fulfillment by coordinating with the sponsorship consultant and internal teams to track contracts, assist with invoicing, and help ensure on-site deliverables are executed as planned. Membership Management: Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the membership database, including processing renewals, updating contact information, and tracking dues. Assist with the production of membership communications, including newsletters, appeals, and collateral materials, in collaboration with the marketing team. Support the creation of sponsorship pitch decks and related materials, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational messaging. Maintain organized digital files and records related to grants, sponsorships, and memberships to support institutional knowledge and compliance. This role works closely with the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships and other senior leaders and offers hands-on exposure to fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and nonprofit finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in administrative, development or coordination roles (intern experience considered).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Interest in nonprofit fundraising, urban revitalization, or public-private partnerships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
