Major Duties Under the general supervision, the Development Analyst performs analysis, supports fundraising strategy, prepares communications, maintains donor data, coordinates events, and provides administrative and operational support to enhance engagement, ensure accurate reporting, and facilitate effective execution of development activities across the organization and donor engagement initiatives. Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis of donor portfolios to support data-driven stewardship strategies aligned with donor giving levels and engagement history; gathers, reviews, and analyzes information, and provides recommendations. Oversees administrative departmental workflows including eTravel, procurement, calendars, meetings, budget, and other front office duties. Analyzes donor and alumni gift histories to identify trends, capacity indicators, and engagement patterns, recommending appropriate stewardship plans and management approaches to enhance retention and long-term philanthropic growth. Performs prospect research and data segmentation to identify, qualify, and prioritize prospective donors, generating targeted prospect lists and analytical insights to support fundraising strategy and campaign initiatives. Communicates clearly and professionally with high-net-worth donors, including preparing briefing materials and participating in donor interactions as appropriate. Ensures timely follow-through on high-priority initiatives to maximize fundraising effectiveness and relationship growth. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
  • Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge of fundraising and advancement operations, including donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship practices, and prospect development strategies.
  • Knowledge of donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge/NXT) and data management principles, including reporting, segmentation, and data integrity standards.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret quantitative and qualitative data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft professional correspondence, reports, briefing materials, and donor communications.
  • Ability to analyze complex donor and alumni data to support strategic decision-making and fundraising outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive donor and institutional information.
