About The Position

This is a part-time position, requiring 10 hours per week, focused on spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support within the Young Life community. The role emphasizes active participation in a parish community and the spiritual life of Young Life, assisting teams and individuals in relational and incarnational ministry and spiritual development. Interns will engage in training provided by local area leadership to learn and gain competency in ministry skills, and will be required to attend a Murdock Vision & Call retreat the first weekend of October.

Requirements

• Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Age 18-26, according to grant requirements.
• College degree preferred or degree in process.

Responsibilities

• Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within a parish community.
• Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
• Assist teams and individuals in relational and incarnational ministry and spiritual development.
• Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership regularly.
• Learn how staff recruit and train new volunteers.
• Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, camping, and committee.
• Assist staff in communicating ministry updates and progress with donors.
• Network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community.
• Assist with current camp fundraisers and in planning fall fundraisers.
• Engage in contact work with students and adults as directed.
• Help lead a team to plan and conduct Young Life club and Campaigners ministry.
• Help implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
• Manage finances with stewardship, accountability, and transparency.
• Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors.
• Provide clear, prompt, appropriate, and professional communication.
