As a Full-Time Developer at Arizona G&T Cooperatives, you will engage in daily coding and software development tasks to create robust energy solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participating in agile meetings to discuss project updates and troubleshoot issues. Expect to analyze system requirements, design software specifications, and implement innovative solutions to solve complex problems. Daily responsibilities will include testing and debugging code, ensuring high-quality performance, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for projects. You will also partake in ongoing learning opportunities and team brainstorming sessions to foster innovation within the organization. Demonstrating your ability to adapt and thrive in a high-performance culture will be key to your success in this role. Analyze user needs to develop, create, and modify software system solutions specific to Arizona's G&T cooperatives. Design software or customize software with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency between the Energy Management System department, System Control, Energy Services, ACES, and Member Distribution Cooperatives.

  • Working closely with various departments on issues including but not limited to; problems, requests for new services, configurations, backups, proposed projects and/or associated costs.
  • Playing key role in meeting user expectations for software system issues, as itemized above.
  • Customer service and technical support of software systems.
  • Prioritizing work requests to minimize downtime for projects and users.
  • Promoting a team environment.
  • Gathering system requirements and creating specifications.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining software systems.
  • Documenting new and existing software systems.
  • Ensuring availability of data through reporting and interoperability.
  • Advising stakeholders within area of expertise.
  • Troubleshooting and working with the IT and/or System Operations to resolve server issues.
  • Playing a key role in the design and optimization of AEPCO's complex billing unit program.
  • Working closely with Energy Services and System Operations to support and update various reports and services.
  • Working with the Software Development team to better understand the flow of data in the system.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area and 1-3 years working experience in the field or internship directly related to software development.
  • Basic understanding of and competence with software development concepts to include: software requirements, software design, software construction, software testing, software maintenance, software configuration management, software engineering management, software engineering process, software engineering tools and methods, and software quality.
  • Proactive customer service and follow-up skills with the ability to maintain a professional relationship with customers and staff, including times exposed to various and frequent customer demands and multiple timelines.
  • Ability to work independently, making decisions within your span of control.
  • Ability to work on projects in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
  • Basic knowledge of system integration concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of programming design paradigms.
  • Ability to program using a modern high-level language.
  • Basic knowledge of database design concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of database management system operation.
  • General understanding of SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of web design concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of server side web development.
  • Ability to read and write HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Ability to develop server side web applications.
  • Basic understanding of computer network environments (servers and networking).
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience can be substituted for requirements listed above
  • Certification in software engineering, database administration/development, or software development preferred.
