The Engineering Build Operations team at Riverbed is a skilled team of developers who work with other teams to improve engineering productivity. Our team has a high standard for repeatability, reliability, and robustness in the tools and services that we deploy and maintain. Our objective is to streamline engineering's operational practices and drive continuous improvements in quality, reliability, and efficiency. You'll be working with collaborative, motivated, professional engineers who are intent on getting the right result, utilizing cutting-edge methodologies to create new tools and enhance existing ones. We are looking for passionate, out-of-the-box thinkers who want to take pride in building, releasing, and supporting cloud and on-premise applications and appliances.

  • Develop automation to reduce/remove manual operations (Python, Java, bash, ssh, Linux, git)
  • Improve robustness by adding metrics, monitoring, and automatic recovery (Icinga, DataDog, PagerDuty)
  • Continue to build out a multi-geo team of build engineers
  • Continue to revise, improve and create build pipelines and build pipeline enhancements
  • Rotate with other team members as first point-of-contact for helping others with tools and services (Jira, Confluence)
  • Add functionality to CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, Jenkins, Bitbucket)
  • Work with the team using agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Maintain/update deployments in cloud environments (Ansible, AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, Kubernetes)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems and computer networking
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams
  • Experience writing code in an Object-Oriented programming paradigm
  • Experience building and/or maintaining build and development pipelines
  • Strong Linux skills and have hands on experience to troubleshoot issues
  • Experience with common scripting languages including Ruby, Perl, JavaScript
  • Experience with Linux packaging tools (RPM) and Apache Build Tools
  • Knowledge of best practices for creating and consuming REST APIs
  • Experience writing library level code and python packages
  • Experience using code inspection tools, debuggers, and profilers
