About The Position

In Developer Publications, we teach people to design and build incredible products and software for Apple's platforms. Our audience includes developers getting their first introduction to Apple platforms, designers using our Human Interface Guidelines, accessory makers and industry partners, and advanced engineers learning our hundreds of frameworks. As a Car Experience Content Engineer & Editor, you'll contribute to technical documentation that enables automakers worldwide to integrate CarPlay, CarPlay Ultra, and car keys into vehicles, directly impacting the experiences of millions of drivers. You'll partner with the Car Experience engineering team, editors, engineers, designers, and other teams across Apple to define, edit, and author hardware specifications and integration requirements, while also contributing to the broader documentation ecosystem.

Requirements

• Experience writing or editing requirements documentation
• Familiarity with automotive systems, hardware integration, and accessory design
• Familiarity with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and UX/UI design principles

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Car Experience engineering team to analyze engineering specifications, research automaker needs, and gain a deep understanding of hardware specifications and implementation requirements
• Craft content delivery plans and schedules, and compose technical specifications that clearly communicate complex integration concepts
• Edit detailed technical specifications and other content produced by engineers
• Identify opportunities to modernize content workflows and formats for improved efficiency and quality
• Contribute to app development documentation and HIG guidance
