About The Position

The Developer III, Logix Solutions is an advanced-level role within the ECS Software Services team at McLeod Software. This position is designed for experienced developers who can independently manage complex development tasks while contributing to customer support and engagement initiatives. In addition to coding responsibilities, Developer III team members may also serve as technical mentors, subject matter experts, or lead developers on projects. This role supports both the support channel (resolving customer issues and bugs) and the engagement channel (delivering software customizations and enhancements).

  • Bachelor's degree, required; or four years of software development-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Experience with SQL and Database Management Systems (RDBMS), required.
  • Advanced experience with tools such as Git, IntelliJ, Azure Devops, and Eclipse, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the trucking and transportation industry, a plus.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation software using FlowLogix, a proprietary McLeod automation tool, with moderate to high complexity for both new and existing applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer-reported issues by delivering robust and scalable software enhancements.
  • Actively participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), following established processes and best practices.
  • Work independently to manage and prioritize daily development tasks, contributing to multiple concurrent projects.
  • Create and adhere to Modification Specifications (Mod Specs) for accurate and consistent implementation of customer solutions.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with the Software Services Manager and Account Resource Managers (ARMs) regarding project status and timelines.
  • Meet Planned Finish Dates (PFDs) on all assignments and proactively notify management of any risks to delivery timelines.
  • Continue expanding technical expertise through mentorship and specialization in key areas of McLeod Software’s platform.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior developers, supporting their growth through guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • May be assigned as the lead developer on engagements or act as a subject matter expert in designated technology or product areas.
