We believe that providing our engineers with the best tools and automation is key to our success. We are seeking a Developer Experience Engineer I to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about developer tooling and automation. You will focus on solving developer challenges through automation-first strategies and help make our development process more self-sufficient and efficient.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • A strong interest in developer tooling and automation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
  • This role is intended for recent college graduates, ideally those who have completed internships in relevant areas.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automation scripts and tools using languages like Python, as well as infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, to streamline developer workflows.
  • Create and maintain onboarding guides, internal documentation, and tutorials to help new developers become productive quickly.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of consistent development environments, whether through scripting, containerization, or cloud-based solutions.
  • Serve as a point of contact to gather feedback from developers about their pain points and work with the DevOps team to prioritize and implement improvements.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing metrics related to developer productivity and experience, and propose actionable improvements based on data.
  • Identify and implement small, incremental changes that can enhance the overall developer experience, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
