About The Position

Rackner is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA). In this role, you’ll design, automate, and deploy secure, cloud-native platforms in AWS GovCloud (IL5/IL6). You’ll work on Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and observability solutions to enable real-time insights, system interoperability, and ATO readiness for critical federal health programs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Engineering
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform, Kubernetes (K8s/K3s), and AWS GovCloud
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or similar)
• Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, HIPAA, FISMA High)
• Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with DHA, VA, or other federal health IT programs
• Knowledge of Platform One, MOSA frameworks, or DDIL environments
• Familiarity with container security (signed images, SBOMs, vulnerability scanning)
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or other observability stacks
• Hands-on exposure to Kubecost or cloud cost management tools

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and GitOps practices
• Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated security automation
• Deploy and operate Kubernetes/K3s clusters in AWS GovCloud (IL5/IL6)
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability with Prometheus and Grafana
• Automate compliance artifacts to support ATO readiness and continuous security validation
