About The Position

Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for a DevOps Engineer. This onsite position can be based out of Rome, NY or Catonsville, MD and requires an active TS/SCI clearance. This position will provide direct support to engineering platforms and microservices used to develop critical applications leveraged across multiple DoD customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field and 5 years’ experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) experience.
  • Strong Git skills for version control (e.g., merge requests, pull requests, pushes), and a solid understanding of DevSecOps principles and the secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDL).
  • Proficient in Python with a deep understanding of web services.
  • Deploying and managing containerized applications in Kubernetes clusters and custom manifests.
  • Experience with configuring and managing Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., KVM, ProxMox, VSphere).
  • Experience with secure software development practices.
  • Ability to understand and describe highly technical software systems.
  • Knowledge of DoD environment, systems, and applications.
  • Investigating and resolving technical issues.
  • Automated infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Jira, Confluence, and GitLab CI.
  • Designing and implementing scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using Azure services including Virtual Machines (VMs), Azure Container Apps, Blob Storage, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.

Responsibilities

  • Develop infrastructure, task automation, provision managed services, and leverage Python, Ansible, and Terraform programming languages.
  • Install, configure, and provide performance support for Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud metrics collection tools.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing GitLab.
  • Manage commercial cloud computing platforms (Azure and AWS).
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other software and test teams to integrate capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in cybersecurity threats and offensive capabilities and contribute to internal research and development efforts.
