Index Analytics is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support Government clients in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. Metro Area. The DevOps Engineer will provide DevOps implementation and support for cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), integrating continuous security monitoring throughout the development and operations lifecycles.

  • Responsible for maintaining all AWS Cloud PROD/Non-PROD system environments
  • Create/design/develop/manage DevOps CI/CD pipelines using open-source and COTS technical solutions
  • Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevOps processes and tools and provide security engineering guidance and expertise to development and operations
  • Implements practical security improvements and compliance activity in support of the product and program
  • Facilitates security reviews and testing, security scans, and penetration testing
  • Ensure work product meets user acceptance criteria
  • Manage self-directed assignments
  • Meet schedule deadlines and commitments with a high-level of quality of deliverables
  • Be a trusted automation and tooling advisor for DevOps initiatives by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights, and advice
  • Develop and execute Test-Driven Development (TDD) software
  • Recommend and implement industry standards
  • Implement and ensure adherence to security practices and incorporate them into the automated pipelines
  • US citizen, or lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT or relevant discipline required
  • 5+ years of relevant IT experience, with 3–5 years of experience in DevOps
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab and Jenkins, to merge development with testing through pipelines
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift etc.) and ability to instantiate a containerized application for the purpose of compliance checking
  • Knowledge of security tools and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Ability to write scripts to automate software compliance process
  • Experience with AWS virtual infrastructure and DevOps tools such as Development IDE's, GitHub or GitLab for source code management
  • Experience with various Linux operating systems and command line operation
  • Knowledge of Agile framework, Scrum methodologies and knowledge of tools used to support them
  • Basic Knowledge of cloud networking and cloud native tools
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust level clearance
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication required
  • Prior experience with Center for Medicare Medicaid Services or other Govt agencies is a plus
