About The Position

As a DevOps Engineer Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the Sponsor's mission. You will play a crucial role in incorporating cutting-edge capabilities to revolutionize the Sponsor's data storage system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Technical skills: AWS, knowledge of server operating systems (Windows, Linux), Distributed Computing, Kubernetes, and Cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to comprehend database methodologies.
  • Focus on continual process improvement with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, SQL, XML, XQuery, XPath, Python, Shell Scripting, JSON.

Responsibilities

  • Offer technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, including design, engineering, configuration, test planning/development, test execution/analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Participate in Sponsor engineering review boards and technical forums to align technical direction with other systems and ensure efficient data processing.
  • Engage with mission partners and stakeholders to understand and meet customer project requirements, providing strategic input on technology evolution and mission goals.
  • Assist in strategic planning for technology evolution, collaborating with other partner organizations to shape strategic plans and architecture frameworks.
  • Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems, ensuring that the infrastructure evolves to meet mission requirements effectively.
  • Establish and execute processes for managing system definition, development, and operations, expanding or modifying systems to meet changing mission requirements or improve workflows.
  • Work with the configuration manager to integrate externally developed software into core libraries and provide solutions related to emerging cloud technologies, including server and network virtualization.
  • Create and maintain the technology roadmap and provide expertise on emerging industry technologies related to system engineering functions.
