The Launch and Missile Defense Systems division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a DevOps Engineer/Principal DevOps Engineer. The position is located on-site in Boulder, CO. Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree for DevOps Engineer
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree for Principal DevOps Engineer
  • Intermediate Linux OS experience
  • Intermediate Python, Perl or shell scripting
  • Ability to work multiple tasks concurrently
  • Comfortable working with software tools
  • Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs
  • Current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application

Responsibilities

  • Applying configuration management methodologies to systems
  • Supporting Development Teams throughout software development lifecycle
  • Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming or scripting languages to improve software development
  • Drive innovation through discovery and implementation of processes for continuous improvement
  • Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated and manual testing on executable code
  • Collaborating with software teams using Agile Methodology
  • Catalyze development teams in adoption of DevOps practices especially using automation
  • Utilize Jira to document bugs and enhancements
  • Enhancing and sustaining maintainability, security and control of system software
