The DevOps Engineer II at Verimatrix is responsible for the creation, deployment and operations of a large product suite that enables content protection and security for video delivered via satellite, cable or the Internet. The DevOps Engineer II leads with their teammates to build, test, deliver, and monitor high-performing, scalable, high-quality products. In this role, the Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems, automate and streamline our operations and processes, and build and maintain tools for deployment, observability, monitoring, and operations. A successful Engineer will be proactive, interactive, creative and flexible.

  • Provide support and troubleshoot escalated customer incidents and internal cloud requests.
  • Define support metrics, identify and provide corresponding trainings and runbooks.
  • Deploy and manage cloud environments with Public Cloud Providers.
  • Automate manual efforts such as building, testing, and deploying.
  • Implement tools for system monitoring and operations.
  • Implement network, security and identity services in compliance with corporate Cloud governance and industry best practices.
  • Keep up to speed with industry best practices and trends in DevOps & Engineering.
  • Become an expert at serverless architecture.
  • Good presentation, meeting facilitation, and communication skills in English across geographies, cultures, and time zones.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities, high attention to detail.
  • Experience with Observability tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, or similar.
  • Coding and scripting experience (Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Linux and networking concepts.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructures (AWS or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills including documentation.
  • Understanding of source control management (git).
  • Understanding of cryptography principals.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration / continuous deployment (CodeFresh, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, etc).
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
  • Languages other than English are a bonus.
