About The Position

In this position, you will work with our engineering group supporting the production infrastructure. Using DevOps tools and strategies, you will support deployment, upgrades, incidents, and proactive improvements related to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). The ideal candidate will be passionate about software as infrastructure and IaaS designs. They should bring a strong track record in designing, building, and supporting virtual infrastructure in an AWS cloud environment. Problem-solving, critical thinking, creative solutioning, and a drive for continual learning are essential attributes for success in this role. What success looks like in the first three months includes understanding the high-level topology of our infrastructure and its dependencies, contributing to the Operational Engineering team's project work, and being capable of supporting incidents with minimal support from other team members. By six months, you should achieve a deep understanding of our infrastructure, including costs, contribute to the design and build of more robust and cost-efficient infrastructure, and troubleshoot existing infrastructure incidents at an expert level. In twelve months, you will work with developers to build out infrastructural templates (e.g., Terraform) to standardize infrastructure components, help replace legacy infrastructure with new, more robust components, collaborate with third-party vendors to design and supply outsourced solutions where appropriate, and work directly with customer tech teams to help troubleshoot or set up new integrations. Your responsibilities will include automating infrastructure and services in Arcadia's AWS cloud, creating, testing, and securing Windows, Linux, and serverless solutions for Arcadia's products and internal teams, capturing system, service, and security telemetry to present data in dashboards, reports, and scorecards, and providing support to the operations team by identifying and implementing best solutions, including identifying root causes. You will also work with vendor support to solve technical issues, perform upgrades, and migrate to better, faster, stronger gear, break down and rebuild tech to decouple bottlenecks and reduce costs for existing code/infrastructure, assess the viability of implementing new technologies, and make recommendations for new solutions. Supporting legacy and new architecture components to maximize uptime, availability, and security will also be part of your role, along with managing and optimizing build pipelines and CI/CD tooling to streamline new product launches and features.
