CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Application Specialist within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities. The DevOps Application Specialist designs, implements, and maintains infrastructure and applications using DevOps principles to ensure continuous delivery, automated workflows, and robust system performance. Key responsibilities include infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, cloud management, application deployment, monitoring, security integration (DevSecOps), and providing technical expertise for specific applications. They bridge the gap between development and operations, utilizing tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to streamline processes and improve application quality and delivery speed. CGI Federal is growing its high-performance team whose members share a passion for building high-quality, scalable, advanced IT solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced, outcome-driven mission. This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

  • Architect, build, and maintain automated systems for deployment, configuration management, and infrastructure provisioning using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Develop and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI to automate code integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Deploy and configure applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and manage virtualized or hybrid environments.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise applications, ensuring seamless integration and updates.
  • Utilize containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes to manage and scale applications.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Nagios) to track application performance, identify issues, and ensure system stability.
  • Integrate security practices into the DevOps lifecycle, ensuring compliance with policies and using tools for security monitoring and code analysis.
  • Thoroughly document all solution details, processes, and configurations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and support staff, to resolve issues and provide technical support.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience for Journeyman level.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5 to 10 years of experience for Senior level.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 10+ years of experience for SME level.
  • TS/SCI security clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals and system administration.
  • Experience with major cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Travis CI.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Nagios, and Splunk.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and Bitbucket.
