About The Position

The Cashier/Cook plays a dual role in providing exceptional guest service at the register and preparing food items in compliance with established health, safety, and quality standards. This position is responsible for accurate cash handling, efficient food prep, cleanliness, and maintaining a smooth and positive experience for all guests.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred (required unless 5+ years of relevant experience).
  • One to two years of cashiering and/or kitchen prep experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in POS systems.
  • Must obtain a valid food handler certification.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to follow recipes and operate kitchen equipment safely.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety, portion control, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening (non-cannabis substances).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions quickly and accurately.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfort working in a high-noise, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must operate and maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Interact effectively with guests and team members to provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Accurately handle guest transactions using a point-of-sale system.
  • Assist with to-go orders, food portioning, and seating guests as needed.
  • Follow recipes and food prep procedures including salads, sandwiches, and basic grill/fry work.
  • Prepare and finish hot and cold food items including seasoning, plating, and garnishing.
  • Maintain knowledge of food safety regulations and ensure compliance at all times.
  • Maintain quantities of items such as coffee and tea throughout the shift.
  • Adhere to cleanliness standards in all areas including workstations and equipment.
  • Follow all cash control policies and procedures.
  • Monitor food inventory and quality.
  • Attend required training and team meetings.
  • Perform as a team member with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Fulfill any additional duties assigned by management.
