About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Silver Maple Recovery of Massillon involves providing nursing care in accordance with established standards and facility policies. The role includes supervising direct client care, interpreting policies, and ensuring compliance with client rights and treatment plans. The nurse will also be responsible for medication administration, documentation, and crisis intervention as needed.

Requirements

• Current CPR and First Aid certificate
• Current TB test
• Valid driver's license
• RN or LPN license

Responsibilities

• Follows established standards of nursing practices and implements facility policies and procedures
• Interprets existing policies and procedures to charge nurses, client assistants, clients, families, and physicians
• Supervises and evaluates all direct client care and initiates corrective action as necessary
• Makes frequent rounds in the facility
• Obtains report from nurse being relieved and records sufficient information for follow-up action
• Provides report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action
• Knowledgeably and competently performs basic nursing skills
• Identifies client problems and emergency situations and initiates an immediate plan of action according to facility policies and procedures
• Follows, supervises, and evaluates the implementation of the Client Rights program
• Follows admission procedures and communicates client admissions to other departments, physicians, and ancillary service providers
• Provides clinical supervision of client assistants
• Assists with covering staffing and making calls to cover any staff call offs
• Participates in the employee evaluation process by providing information on the clinical performance of client assistants
• Receives medication delivery from pharmacy, checks and documents medications received
• Administers and documents a comprehensive assessment of each client as needed or assigned
• Assists with the development of an accurate and comprehensive treatment plan based on client needs
• Plans, facilitates, and documents treatment groups in accordance with clients' treatment plans
• Administers PRN medications and treatments as necessary
• Notifies the physician of changes in clients' conditions, weight, medication errors, and other unusual observations
• Documents client care provided and the clients' response or lack of response to care provided
• Personally obtains continuing education
• Supervises response to clients' calls for assistance
• Follows facility discharge/transfer procedure and coordinates discharge/transfer with other departments, physicians, and ancillary service providers
• Possesses clear written and verbal communication skills
• Acts as a charge nurse and covers the floor/various shifts as needed for the best interest of the facility
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Subacute Detox Nurse Manager
• Supports and assists in crisis intervention and at all other times deemed appropriate
• Ensures compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards
