About The Position

The Detention Officer at CoreCivic is responsible for maintaining order, safety, and security within a correctional facility. Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
• Completion of pre-service correctional officer training.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record.
• Ability to complete any required training to meet contract requirements and/or standards.
• Minimum age requirement of 21 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order, safety, and security of residents in a correctional facility.
• Provide direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, during meals, recreation, and work assignments.
• Engage in various work areas including armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, and visitation.
• Employ weapons or force as necessary to maintain discipline and order.
