About The Position

Requirements

• Training in cultural diversity or sensitivity preferred.
• Possession of applicable state requisites for employment.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with extended hours.
• Must be able to regularly report to work on time.
• Ability to be physically alert on any assigned shift.
• Work experience in a correctional setting preferred.
• May be required to possess a valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and monitors the activities of detainees in various areas of the facility.
• Coordinates and monitors detainee movements, conducts counts, and provides emergency response as needed.
• May be assigned to various posts including control room, health services, perimeter security, and transportation.
• Provides security in program activities and supervises labor crews.
• Conducts shakedowns for contraband materials and confiscates items as per policies.
• Initiates disciplinary reports on detainees and prepares reports and daily logs.
• Ensures prompt assistance to detainees in case of injury or illness.
• Promotes facility cleanliness and reports maintenance needs.
• Serves as a member of special teams for emergency responses.
• Completes required training courses and performs correctional duties as assigned.
