Monitors and controls the internal and external security systems of the Juvenile Detention Center; assists full time officers in monitoring and supervising detainees; transports detainees to and from various appointments.
Provides supervision, programming, and educational support for detainees at the Juvenile Detention Center.
Conducts room searches and room checks as required by law.
Monitors and controls both internal and external security of the Juvenile Detention Center.
Deals with the public, social service agencies, and other law enforcement agencies in person and by telephone.
Drives detainees to and from various appointments and ensures information from the appointments is conveyed to full time officers.
Performs other duties as requested by a supervisor.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data, to extract information, to understand technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from court personnel, social service and/or law enforcement agencies, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization doesn't always exist.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
