About The Position

Performs a variety of routine and complex public safety work in the performance of the Detention Division, providing for the incarceration and well-being of pre-sentenced and sentenced inmates through care, custody and control.

Requirements

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
Must be 21 years or older at the time of employment.
Must be able to communicate in English, both written and orally.
Must be of good moral character and of temperate and industrious habits.
Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license without record of suspension or revocation in any state.
No felony convictions and/or serious misdemeanor, disqualifying criminal histories.
Ability to meet Department's physical standards.
Ability to obtain certification for CPR/First Aid.
Must complete ICS 100 and ICS 700 within the first year of employment.
May have to cover shifts or be on call in emergency situations.
