About The Position

A Detailer (Draftsperson) is responsible for preparing joist and deck erection drawings according to
project specifications and contract drawings using 3D software (Tekla). Detailers must be able to read
and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to
steel joist and steel deck. A Detailer must be able to apply this information to the preparation of approval
submittal drawings, coordination of information between Vulcraft and our customer, and preparation of
final drawings and bills of materials for release to production with all information necessary for correct
product design and manufacture. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore,
candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices,
procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Candidate must be a significant safety and environmental advocate
• Must be dedicated to teamwork as well as servicing the customer
• Ability to manage and lead projects
• Convey a high-level work ethic and maintain personnel morale
• Possess good organizational skills and handle multiple tasks
• Possess good verbal, written communication skills as well as computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel experience
• Committed to a high volume, excellent quality, low cost, accident free and pleasant work environment
• Must be able to work overtime including weekends
• Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in detailing joist and deck or structural steel
• Two-year technical degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Tekla 3D software
• Ability to read and understand structural and architectural drawings with specifications
