About The Position

The Automotive Detailer at McDonald Automotive is responsible for cleaning and detailing vehicles to ensure they meet high standards of presentation and quality. The detailer plays a crucial role in the dealership's operations by ensuring that all vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and ready for customer delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in service and/or detail shop preferred.
• 1 year of automotive or detail experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Valid state driver's license to drive any customer or company vehicle.
• Ability to drive and handle various vehicle makes, models, and sizes.
• Desire to continue learning and ability to adapt to changes in technology and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and detail vehicles for customer delivery and presentation on the lot.
• Clean, wax, polish, refurbish, and detail collision-damaged vehicles, as well as old and new vehicles.
• Inspect finished products to ensure the highest quality service.
• Understand and deliver on specific customer requirements.
• Maintain proper function of all service tools and equipment.
• Report any damage to the supervising manager in a clear and timely fashion.
• Coordinate and arrange work effectively with team members.
• Maintain excellent standards and quality of service to represent the dealership positively.
• Clean and maintain the detail bay daily.
• Follow and adhere to all company safety policies, rules, and training.
• Complete specifically assigned opening or closing duties based on scheduled shift.
• Report all accidents to the Manager/Supervisor immediately.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
