About The Position

Summary The primary responsibility o f the Detail Technician is to function as a skilled-level detail employee who can perform reconditioning at all levels. The role of Detail Technician is to achieve and maintain a high-quality product in a fast- paced performance-oriented environment. Role and Responsibilities Performs work with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Communicates with p arts department to obtain the required parts or accessories to complete the job. Examines assigned vehicle (s) to determine if it has any existing damage or added parts and capture that information on the customer detail checklist. Communicates with the Detail Manager if additional work is needed, or if reconditioning cannot be completed within the allotted time. Achieve s 120% or greater hour efficiency. Recondition vehicles interiors and exteriors in compliance with all company standards and customers requests. Operat es buffers, steamers, air hoses, vacuums, and other equipment to meet company service expectations. Unde rstand company needs and can shift priorities. Ensure the carwash and internal area is maintained up to company standards. Utilize cleaning , protective, and restorative agents to enhance and maintain vehicle appearance in compliance with the company and OSHA regulations. Maneuvering vehicles on and off company premises to different locations independently or with customers. Manag e inventory and reordering supplies on an as needed basis. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Properly dispose of used parts and return unused parts to the parts counterperson C omply with all company policies and uphold standards for service quality. Participates in company training programs, schools, and events. Refuel new or used vehicles when needed and approved by a manager. Reports machinery defec ts or malfunctions to the Detail Manager. Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies a manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of a vehicle. No unnecessary use of customer vehicles or reckless driving. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and property. Returns them to the proper location and in the same condition as they were received. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
