The Detail Technician I position at Cox Automotive involves ensuring that vehicles are placed in sale conditions according to customer specifications and Auction standards. This role requires performing a variety of cleaning duties to the interior and exterior of vehicles. The technician will work as part of a team of 4-6 people to complete a line of assigned vehicles. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, and the position is based in Lakeland, FL.

  • Clean out and de-trash the interior of vehicles by removing any debris and trash from various areas.
  • Remove license plates and stickers, as well as any writing from windows, except pertinent to Auction business.
  • Wash vehicles using a high-pressure washer or automatic car wash equipment.
  • Clean door jams, sills, interior panels, wheels, tires, hub caps/wheel covers, and more.
  • Detail vehicles by cleaning and dressing trim, molding, and other interior components.
  • Buff vehicles and apply dressing to various parts of the vehicle.
  • Vacuum interior, scrub, shampoo, and spot clean carpet and upholstery.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures.
  • Work in a team environment to complete the assigned flow of vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in detail shop or buffing experience helpful.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Must be able to work outside in different weather elements.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to lift 1-30 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision.
  • Minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month.
