About The Position

We are seeking a Detail Cell Operator to join our facility in Canoga Park CA (Los Angeles area). Union Position. 2nd Shift. This position performs multiple manufacturing and inspection functions to include: accumulate raw materials, CNC HASS machines, automate furnaces/conventional ovens, automated coordinate measuring machine inspection, automated parts dipping, bench machining/deburring, chemical parts cleaning, agitators/mixers, coating, dimensional inspection. Requirements

  • Trade school certification, High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, planning documents, sketches, engineering orders, work instructions, charts, graphs and other source documents for the manufacture parts and inspect for conformance to design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Setup and operate numerically controlled machines in the automatic mode to perform operations within the capability of the machine to manufacture production and developmental parts.
  • Load parts into machine tooling in accordance with work instructions.
  • Adjust machine axis and tool length compensations, to meet part configuration requirements.
  • Setup and operate conventional ovens and automated furnaces to perform heat treat operations.
  • Load parts on hooks and/or racks in accordance with work instructions to minimize warpage and obtain even heat processing.
  • Grind, deburr, hone and polish parts in accordance with work instructions to achieve required finish.
  • Setup and operate automated cleaning process equipment to perform surface treat and/or other processing operations involving cleaning and etching in accordance with work instructions.
  • Change-out cleaning solutions per work instructions.
  • Setup and operate automated dipping equipment to perform thermal coating.
  • Check parts and equipment to assure proper processing in accordance with work instructions and specified requirements.
  • Prepare thermal barrier materials and/or other coating materials using agitators and/or mixers.
  • Touch up blemished parts by refinishing base coatings using brush, spray gun, automated dipping or similar equipment.
  • Record data and statistics manually or with the aid of a computer or computer-based system.
  • Inspect parts involving precision tolerance dimensions, coordinated dimensions, irregular surfaces requiring coordination, compound and reverse contours.
  • Experience using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Experience using machine shop type chemicals.
  • Experience using personal computers or manufacturing computers for the purposes of viewing or maintaining and/or inspection data.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (U.S. Citizenship required).
