About The Position

The Dessert Cook is responsible for preparing and plating desserts according to recipes and restaurant standards. The ideal candidate has a passion for pastry, an eye for detail, and a commitment to producing visually stunning and delicious desserts.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a dessert cook, pastry chef, or baker is required.
  • Knowledge of various baking techniques and a passion for creating high-quality desserts.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to plating.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of desserts, including cakes, pastries, and ice cream, following established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure that all desserts are fresh and visually appealing, with attention to taste, texture, and appearance.
  • Assist in the development of new dessert menu items, including seasonal offerings.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and blenders to bake desserts.
  • Plate and garnish desserts in an attractive manner before serving to guests.
  • Monitor and manage dessert ingredients and supplies, ensuring they are fresh and in stock.
  • Report any shortages or equipment issues to the kitchen manager.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including all baking and plating tools.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in the kitchen.
