About The Position

The Dessert Cart Attendant is responsible for taking food and beverage orders and delivering them efficiently to guests in the dining room. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, adherence to food safety standards, and effective communication with both guests and kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room.
• Take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
• Assist guests with additional needs or requests periodically.
• Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients.
• Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested.
• Accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences.
• Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
• Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodation of special requests.
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain good relationships with others.
• Remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared by guests.
• Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
• Ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods, keeping the area clean and neat.
• Operate various equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
• Work with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
