About The Position

Come join our team in our Naperville office. In this role you will be responsible for imaging, configuring, and deploying workstations, troubleshooting hardware issues, and providing excellent technical support. You will also coordinate shipping and receiving tasks for hardware and ensure that all asset movements are accurately recorded in our asset management platform. A commitment to continuous process improvement and outstanding customer service is essential.

Requirements

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience in desktop support or a similar role preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to guide non-technical users through complex tasks
  • Commitment to providing exceptional user experiences
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Capable of effectively handling shipping and receiving activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable kneeling, bending, and working in varied physical spaces

Responsibilities

  • Image, configure, and deploy workstations in alignment with company standards
  • Install, update, and maintain necessary hardware and software
  • Ensure deployments follow security and compliance guidelines
  • Coordinate computer moves, additions, and changes to support various departments
  • Perform physical setup, relocation, and retirement of hardware
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to minimize disruption to operations
  • Oversee inbound and outbound shipments of hardware, parts, and peripherals
  • Inspect all incoming items and verify delivery against orders and documentation
  • Track shipping and receiving activities to maintain a clear chain of custody
  • Use the asset management platform to update hardware records and track changes
  • Verify serial numbers and asset tags, and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate, real-time information about new, in use, and retired hardware
  • Diagnose hardware issues and determine if repairs or replacements are necessary
  • Coordinate with vendors for shipping, warranty claims, and returns
  • Communicate repair timelines and status updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Provide remote and on-site assistance for hardware related issues
  • Use diagnostic tools and best practices to efficiently resolve problems
  • Clearly document and communicate resolutions to end users
  • Manage and support audio visual equipment such as projectors and conferencing systems
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs with vendors
  • Ensure equipment is fully operational to avoid disruptions during meetings and events
  • Record and track all support requests using the Service Desk ticketing system
  • Prioritize and resolve tickets within agreed service levels
  • Identify opportunities to streamline desktop support workflows
  • Suggest and implement enhancements in shipping, receiving, and asset tracking procedures
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends
