About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join the Field Services team in Louisville, Kentucky. This role is primarily focused on providing desktop support to various state agencies located within eight counties, with a significant emphasis on Jefferson County. The technician will be responsible for delivering 60% deskside support and 40% ticket callback services, which includes handling hardware orders and resolving previous tickets that lacked the necessary parts for resolution. The technician can expect to manage approximately 5-10 tickets daily through the Heat ticketing system, which will soon transition to ServiceNow. The position requires the technician to work closely with a team of eight other technicians to ensure effective support for state agencies. The technician will engage in a variety of desktop duties, including working on desktops, laptops, tablets, software, copiers, printers, and phones (VoIP/mobile/analog). Additionally, there may be occasions where the technician is called upon to assist with servers, routers, and network switches as needed. A state vehicle will be provided for travel to various locations within the designated counties. Candidates for this position should possess excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as experience in computer equipment configuration, setup, and installation. Familiarity with ticketing software, particularly ServiceNow, is preferred. The ability to work under pressure and a solid understanding of hardware and software are essential for success in this role.
