About The Position

The IT Desktop Support Technician I provides entry-level technical and customer service support to County employees via telephone, email, and remote desktop tools. This position assists with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supports audio/visual setup, and helps deploy equipment while maintaining a strong focus on customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of technical support experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and procedures under supervision.
• Must be available during emergencies and natural disasters on short notice.
• This position may require evening and weekend work, sometimes with little advanced notice.
• Must have a valid Florida driver's license and maintain a good driving record or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent training, certifications, or experience may be considered in place of preferred degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide entry-level on-site and remote technical support for County users.
• Accurately categorize and collect user tickets and document solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware/software issues and escalate when needed.
• Deploy and install desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Perform inventory tracking, asset management, and parts control.
• Assist in setup and support for AV equipment during meetings.
• Maintain a high level of customer service when assisting users.
• Enter knowledgebase documentation in Easy Vista.
• Dispatch higher-tier technicians as necessary.
