About The Position

The Desktop Support Technician and Network Support Technician positions are based in Philadelphia, PA, at 2198 Horning Rd. The Desktop Support Technician role involves providing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, ensuring that desktop connections are functioning properly, and troubleshooting application-related issues on Windows OS. The Network Support Technician role requires expertise in IP networking, infrastructure management, and overseeing urgent IT support issues. Both positions require working from the office Monday through Friday, with specific working hours for the Desktop Support Technician from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Requirements

  • 6 to 10 years of total experience in IT.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC and desktop hardware and internal components.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of network commands (CMD).

Nice To Haves

  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript, VBA, Python, PHP, R, etc.).
  • CCNA/CCNP Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user and network hardware.
  • Ensure that desktop connections, such as network jacks, are in proper working order.
  • Troubleshoot printers and replace parts as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors for shipment of parts.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in IP networking, including advanced IP configuration and routing.
  • Oversee and coordinate urgent and complicated IT support issues.
  • Follow SNOW ticket management system and enforce ticket escalation processes.
  • Independently maintain/manage the data room infrastructure.
