About The Position

The Desktop Support position within the End User Services organization at Seagate aims to provide exceptional technical support to employees, ensuring their success through effective problem-solving and customer service. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining security protocols, and documenting incidents in an enterprise environment, all while adhering to established processes to minimize disruptions.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management regarding case statuses and suggestions.
  • Experience in creating and executing innovative solutions for technical support problems.
  • Critical thinking skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Proactive approach to resolving issues before they escalate.
  • General understanding of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 applications and Windows 10 OS.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, and must be enrolled in Fall 2025 courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant Technical Certifications such as Microsoft, A+, and HDI preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in Information Technology solutions and services.
  • Experience in Customer Service or Desktop Support.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex hardware and software issues related to end-user computers.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, application, hardware, audio visual, and telephony equipment problems.
  • Adapt quickly to various situations faced by end users in a fast-paced environment.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware in an enterprise setting.
  • Understand the Active Directory environment.
  • Follow processes to deliver high-quality work with minimal disruptions.
  • Maintain password security, data integrity, and file system security using Bitlocker.
  • Document trouble tickets from inception to closure in an Enterprise Incident Management System like Service Now.
  • Gain experience with Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
