The Desktop Support & Server Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the design, architecture, and management of information technology systems that support business operations. This role involves supervising system administrators, advising on technical components, and ensuring the security and availability of enterprise systems, including VMware, Windows Server, and Linux. The position requires participation in team projects, critical thinking, and problem-solving to meet information security compliance and operational goals.

  • Manage the installation, configuration, and management of server software applications including Microsoft technologies and third-party applications.
  • Work with vendors and other departments to identify needs and acquire IT solutions.
  • Collaborate with the endpoint deployment team to ensure access, installation, and availability of services.
  • Design, install, and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure including Cisco UCS, NetApp, and IBM storage arrays.
  • Monitor, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain the physical and virtual infrastructure and related technologies.
  • Design, install, maintain, and test on-premises backup systems and off-site replication as part of a disaster recovery plan.
  • Create a detailed library of documentation covering design, implementation, maintenance, and routine procedures for all systems.
  • Research new systems or solutions that integrate with identity, directories, and messaging platforms.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of experience as a system administrator.
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field with 5-7+ years of experience as a system administrator.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 4-6+ years of experience as a system administrator.
  • Relevant industry standard certifications such as A+, Security+, Microsoft Azure Certs may substitute for 1 year of work experience each up to 2 years.
  • Experience installing, supporting, and administering Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
  • Experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Remote Desktop Services (RDSH).
  • Experience with enterprise-wide email systems (e.g., Microsoft Exchange Online).
  • Experience with backup and restore software, procedures, and design (e.g., Veeam).
  • Experience maintaining user identities within a directory (e.g., Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, LDAP).
  • Experience with storage array solutions (e.g., NetApp).
  • Experience designing and building mission-critical IT solutions, including fault tolerance and disaster recovery.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Office 365.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS installation, design, and configuration.
  • Experience with certificate administration.
  • Experience leading a team of IT professionals.
