12 Week Summer Internship in NRECA’s Arlington, VA office You must be an Undergraduate Student who will be a Junior or Senior in the Autumn of 2026 to be considered for this program. Our Information Technology Desktop Engineering team supports all workstations and mobile devices to ensure NRECA associates and partners’ technology resources are available and operate efficiently and securely by centrally managing, monitoring and setting policies. We are looking for an intern to: Employ AI/Machine Learning solutions to more efficiently manage endpoints or enhance customer experiences. Assist with imaging and provisioning end-user devices using tools like Intune, Autopilot, or SCCM. Perform software installations and updates, including testing new applications, including Microsoft 365 applications, before deployment. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for employees, escalating when needed. Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and knowledge articles for internal use. Support onboarding/offboarding processes, including preparing laptops and managing asset inventory. Assist with monitoring and maintaining device compliance in accordance with organizational policies. Help test new technologies (e.g., new laptop models, OS builds, automation scripts). Work on small automation or scripting tasks, typically using PowerShell.

Requirements

  • Rising college junior or senior with a major in Business Administration, Computer Science, CyberSecurity, Information Systems or related focus.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher (no academic or corrective action on record); transcripts must be provided.
  • Familiarity and experience using Microsoft 365 apps, especially Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Experience using Generative AI, AI Agents or Machine Learning tools to enhance work performance or improve processes.
  • Learn new systems and processes and quickly incorporate them into the daily work.
  • Organize and manage time effectively.
  • Pay close attention to detail and review work for quality.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong communication skills orally and in writing
  • Customer-service mindset, with patience and a helpful attitude.
  • Understanding of ITIL concepts (incidents, requests, changes and problems).
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and use good judgment to escalate appropriately.
  • Understanding of Windows 11 OS features, settings, and troubleshooting.
  • Comfort with hardware setup and troubleshooting, such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Understanding of data privacy, secure handling of sensitive information, and why it matters in financial services.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Active Directory, accounts, groups, and password resets.
  • Understanding of endpoint security, including antivirus, MFA, and encryption.
  • Networking knowledge (IP addressing, DNS, VPN concepts).
  • Ability to follow imaging processes (Intune, Autopilot, or SCCM exposure is a bonus).
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell is a plus).
