The Desktop Engineer will act as an advanced-level resource who works closely with the senior desktop Engineer and IT Architects. They provide direction and team leadership to solve problems, implement projects, and resolve issues for employees using enterprise endpoint management solutions. This candidate will work on a team responsible for endpoint configuration enablement, request fulfillment, and Incident Management.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of core Infrastructure services and functions (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, etc.)
  • Advanced experience with Virtualization configuration, support, and deployment.
  • Advanced experience with various Software deployment methodologies. (Patching, Packaging, Deployment)
  • Advanced knowledge of system performance measuring and monitoring. (EventViewer, Enterprise Systems Management Logs, Server Logging)
  • Advanced-level understanding of networking infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN) and protocols (TCP/IP, WINS).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 2-Year Associate Degree in Computer Science AND 4+ years experience with Enterprise Systems Management Solutions in Mid-size to Large Enterprises or equivalent work experience and technical training

Responsibilities

  • Providing framework and design of current and future imaging solutions for multiple hardware platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Apple iOs and macOS, and Linux
  • Work with IT teams to establish standards for security and connectivity of Operating System platforms and tools to monitor and manage them
  • Aid in the development and deployment of Group Policy administration footprint and communicating their use to the Desktop Engineering team and Support Teams
  • Manage, implement, and enable Software standards and deployment methods for the organization
  • Liaison with support teams to discuss support issues and problem management. Assign resources and follow-up tasks for resolution. Provides advanced technical expertise.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Perform Process Improvements and analysis of processes on a regular basis to reduce spend, complexity, and problem management.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Team Lead
