The Desktop Engineer is primarily responsible for Architectural Design, Engineering Computer Solutions to Business and technical problems, provide leadership to team responsible for collaborating on Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and specialized computer platforms, deployment infrastructure connected with managing enterprise computer platforms, automation of deployment, break-fix, and lifecycle of enterprise computer platforms, lead deployment of remediation and new computer platforms, and provide final level of support escalation from the Help Desk. This position will also recommend, define, standardize, document, test and implement new software and hardware based on requirements from the business. The Desktop Engineer will also document, monitor, and report on computer systems issues and lead appropriate IT staff to reproduce and resolve computer related problems.

  • Recommend, Define, and Document Standard System components that support the business systems.
  • Meet with vendors and IT management / Architects in reviewing new computer platform technology providing Advanced technical insight in theory, and Baseline Infrastructure.
  • Provide Advanced Understanding of the entire Infrastructure Architecture supporting the implementation, deployment, and everyday operations of the compute stack.
  • Documents, monitors, reports, and manages resolution as part of problem management.
  • Provides Advanced technical support to end users when cases are escalated from peer engineers and technical support professionals.
  • Performs Advanced technical engineering for Current and past Windows Computer Operating Systems, Active Directory, Anti-Virus and Lendmark Core Business and Productivity software stack.
  • Integrates computer solutions into core computer services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Security Solutions).
  • Reviews and Defines Installations, configurations, and updates to computer platforms.
  • Actively participates in the identification of new user needs or program enhancements.
  • Writes, reviews and/or maintains technical documentation.
  • Accountable for changes to the Windows Operating System to improve performance and reliability.
  • Manages 3rd party vendors to complete projects or troubleshoot issues.
  • Reports weekly status on projects.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings.
  • Manages Company risk relative to position.
  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable education/training (additional Four years' experience in lieu of degree). Where education is substituted for experience, HS Diploma or GED from accredited institutions required.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong Communication and Presentation skills.
  • 5+ years of experience to include the following: Windows operating systems, deployment tools and architectures, computer platforms, computer vendor management.
  • Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP and print services.
  • PowerShell, and other scripting tools.
  • OS Deployment tools and architecture (e.g., SCCM, MDT, HPDM, Intune, Acronis, Flexera).
  • Advanced Adaptability to fast changing environment.
  • Independent Analytical Thinking. Breaking down large complex problems into smaller components and addressing each component as a method to resolution to the larger problem.
  • Approaches technology architecture and engineering by collecting and analyzing data from technical trends and best practices.
  • Advanced experience in installing, testing, evaluating and integrating various applications and 3rd party solutions into virtual architecture.
  • Extensive experience resolving computer system issues.
  • Ability to lead a team on specific engineering projects and tasks.
  • Must be able to reach across groups in spirit of teamwork to gain cooperation in delivery of engineering projects and tasks.
  • Advanced Attention to detail. Must be able to organize tasks, define responsibilities, and assign priorities to ensure a timely technical delivery.
  • Experience in Financial/Banking industry.
  • Knowledge of enterprise single sign-on solution.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms.
  • Experience in Office 365 roll-out and support.
  • Windows 10/11 Professional and Enterprise.
