About The Position

The Desk Nurse/Nurse Supervisor at Canyon Creek Post Acute plays a crucial role in supporting patient care and the overall operations of the skilled nursing facility. Requirements

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inform nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, and room assignments.
• Ensure that rooms are ready for new admissions and greet newly admitted residents upon arrival.
• Review nurses' notes for accuracy and compliance with resident care wishes.
• Schedule daily rounds to observe residents and assess nursing needs.
• Report problem areas to the Station Manager and RN Nurse Supervisor.
• Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Notify the resident's attending physician and Responsible Party of any changes in the resident's condition.
• Visit residents daily to evaluate their physical and emotional status.
• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules for compliance.
• Report medication errors to the Station Manager and RN Nurse Supervisor.
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary, including starting IVs and obtaining lab specimens.
• Take vital signs as necessary and ensure residents unable to call for help are checked frequently.
• Respond to emergency situations as needed and assist in arranging transportation for discharged residents.
• Inform family members of resident deaths and call funeral homes when requested.
