About The Position

The Kitchen and Bath Designer at Meeks Lumber & Hardware will work in a retail environment, assisting customers and builders with design and product selection. This role involves soliciting new accounts, conducting job site visits, and ensuring timely completion of projects. The designer must possess extensive product knowledge and strong communication skills to effectively serve clients' needs.

Requirements

• Minimum 60 hours of NKBA professional development programming or equivalent technical degree preferred.
• 3-7 years of Kitchen & Bath industry experience required.
• Advanced computer-aided drafting skills.
• Strong salesmanship and verbal communication skills.
• Good design presentation skills.
• Advanced knowledge of kitchen and bathroom design and building materials.
• Valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of cabinet design software and industry-related software.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Solicit new accounts and conduct job site visits.
• Greet clients in the design center and assist with product selection.
• Conduct pre-construction site inspections and measurements.
• Perform automated design capabilities within stock and semi-custom product categories.
• Conduct bid and prep proposal functions.
• Order project materials and arrange project schedules.
• Act as the liaison between customers, materials vendors, and subcontractors.
• Review assigned accounts to ensure accurate payment and credit processing.
• Maintain knowledge of daily and monthly sales and margin goals.
• Understand customer billing cycles and process deposits accurately.
• Explain differences in cabinet lines to customers.
• Maintain an active file of new and existing customers.
• Coordinate delivery to contractor-remodeler customers as needed.
• Participate in semi-annual inventory and maintain showroom appearance.
