About The Position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm providing engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. ECI has an immediate opening for a mid-level designer. This position involves a variety of design and drafting tasks supporting overhead and underground transmission line and distribution line projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PLS-CADD software, and company-specific spreadsheets. Key tasks include the design of underground power cable, routing, development of system plans, grounding details, conduit details, plans and profiles, structures, preparation of bill of materials, and electric schematics, all based on guidance from a project engineer. Occasional drafting and design support to other groups, such as substation and industrial, is also expected.

Requirements

College degree in an acceptable curriculum or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design
A minimum of 10 years of concentrated computer-aided drafting experience or sufficient CADD knowledge supplemented by industrial, construction or construction management
Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
Proven excellent level of interpersonal skills
Ability to work individually and on a team
Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills
Ability to undertake occasional travel/driving
Meet ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements
Not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future

3D CADD experience (MicroStation or AutoCAD)
