About The Position

The Designer position at Truck-Lite Co., LLC involves working closely with engineers and other design team members to align lighting designs with overall vehicle specifications. The role requires utilizing CAD software to produce detailed design drawings and ensuring feasibility for production. The designer will support the product engineering team with drawing and bill of materials work related to the engineering change notice process, lead cross-functional teams on internal projects, and stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in heavy-duty lighting. Additionally, the position requires compliance with the Technology Control Plan and the Federal Export Control Policy established for the Corporation.

Requirements

  • Aesthetic Sensibility: Balancing functionality with appealing design to enhance the truck's overall look.
  • Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, knowledge of lighting technologies, and an understanding of safety standards.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of work-related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers and other design team members to align lighting designs with overall vehicle specifications.
  • Utilize CAD software to produce 2D detailed design drawings and ensure feasibility for production.
  • Support the product engineering team pertaining to the drawing and bill of materials work related to the engineering change notice process.
  • Lead cross-functional teams related to internal projects and process improvement.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in heavy-duty lighting to incorporate cutting-edge solutions.
  • Responsible for entering information into the IMDS (International Material Data System).
  • Provide backup support for the Bill of Materials Analyst.
