About The Position
Chartwell Books division of The Quarto Group is seeking to hire a creative book Designer to join our remote team. Chartwell is a leading publisher of value non-fiction titles that range from pop culture, lifestyle, food and drink, book plus, and self-help books. As a Designer, you'll collaborate closely with our Editorial and Sales Departments to create a wide variety of book designs. In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually captivating covers and uniquely designed interiors for highly illustrated books. You will work on projects independently while collaborating with the editorial team and illustrators. Managing the color printing process and preflighting files for the printer will be key aspects of your responsibilities. You will also work directly with the Production team to address any queries from the printer and assist the Publishing Director in commissioning illustrators and freelance designers, monitoring their progress throughout the design process. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating a variety of sales covers for sales pitches and conferences, ensuring that all designs meet the high standards expected by our team and clients.
